Crystal Litchford is proud to serve as a Community Care Coordination-Suicide Prevention Specialist with Illinois Joining Forces (IJF). In this role, Crystal is dedicated to providing guidance, support, and essential resources to military families throughout the state of Illinois.

With generations of family members having served, Crystal understands that navigating the intricate maze of available resources and services can be a daunting and overwhelming task. Due to her personal experiences, she has developed a deep desire to help other families facing the same obstacles. Crystal is the proud mother of an active-duty soldier. She has also filled the role of family caregiver and advocate for her husband, a wounded veteran, for several years.

Crystal holds a B.S. in psychology, with a minor in counseling from NIU. Her areas of interest include combat-related trauma, TBI, PTSD, and dysregulation of the limbic system. She is an active member of The American Psychological Association (APA), The National Alliance on Mental Illness (N.A.M.I.), and The International Honor Society in Psychology (Psi Chi).

“Providing service members and their families with the resources they need to live healthy, happy, and full lives is an honor and privilege. I am grateful to have the opportunity to show my appreciation for the sacrifices made by those who selflessly chose to serve this country.”
